Visita a un colegio de Round Square, en Nueva York

La familia Boudourian se iba de vacaciones a NY y el papá se contactó con BDS para ver si teníamos vinculación (por el Programa de Intercambios) con un algún colegio de allí, para ir a visitarlo. Y así fue: estuvieron en Hackley School, otra institución asociada a Round Square, una de cuyas docentes nos visitó hace algún tiempo. Fernando Boudourian, alumno de S4, tuvo a bien contarnos la experiencia en un report que, a su regreso, le solicitara el Vicedirector General, Federico Johansen:

«Thirty minutes northwest from Manhattan was the location of this old stylish school. I felt rather dizzy the last stretch because of the several curves taken to the top of the mountain where Hackley was situated, but this sensation was quickly turned to comfort when Adrianne Peers, the lady in charge of the students’ exchanges, gave us a warm welcome with hot chocolate and all! It was then easy to feel at home.

We had quite some time and took the pleasure of admiring the place, from the well-cared vegetation to the meticulous details of the school architecture and structure. Walking towards a titanic dining room, in the hallway we could see many students studying in groups during what proved to be a short break, which I thought clearly showed these teenagers’ effort and perseverance. We also had the luck to see some students working on their art projects: some of them were highly detailed sculptures while others were absolutely captivating paintings which really deserved to be called works of art!

After breakfast in the dining room, we went by car to see the enormous campus/sports field where the school teams regularly play. But before that, we went into a Spanish class where we participated talking about everyday life in  Buenos Aires. They  did not know much about Argentina and the 10-year-old-children asked many questions.

At the end of the day we were introduced to the IT teacher and was also shown a presentation carried out by two of the most prestigious students in that class. After the tour throughout this astonishing school, Adrianne said goodbye and off we went to continue our trip in the city of New York».
