Guided Reading
As part of the Reading Programme, we have launched guided reading sessions in small groups, building a bridge between P3 and P4. With the objective of smoothing the transition into the second cycle, children and teachers have started working in small groups to keep a close eye in the teaching of reading strategies to foster independent reading. Readers from the Sails Literacy Series cover a variety of topics, striking a perfect balance between fiction and non-fiction.
Virtual field trips at BDS!
P4 has also embarked on a series of virtual field trips in Wyoming and North Carolina, USA. The objective is not only to take advantage of making global connections, but also to learn about different cultures through the use of language in authentic contexts. The children visited the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Wyoming and the NC Aquarium at PKS to learn about different animal species and actively interacted with the tour guides through questions and comments. A most enriching experience. Well done, P4!
