ESSARP Model United Nations

Every year, the ESSARP team (English Speaking Scholastic Association of the River Plate) organizes the Model United Nations in which more than 30 schools from Argentina and Uruguay play part as a country’s delegation and represent their ambassadors.

This year, the UN Model took place on June Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th, in St. Catherine’s Moorlands School (Tortuguitas), where our students represented France and the Netherlands.

Each student involved had to write a Policy Statement and a Resolution concerning issues such as arms trade, discrimination, equality, developing world, the Sirya and South Sudan situation, etc.

A total of 21 students from S4, S5 and S6 spent the whole morning of Friday and Saturday in “international lobby”, negotiating and making alliances with other countries to pass their resolutions. It was a great experience and actually really fun.

A special mention to the students that had to be part of the UN Model in Pilar…  and had to come rushing back to school for the inauguration of the School Play!
