"The annual end of year ESSARP dinner was held at Belgrano Day School on Friday 4 November. On behalf of the school, Mrs Matilde Villanueva de Green welcomed Head teachers from ESSARP schools, Heads of Section from BDS, members of the BDS Board, and staff members from the ESSARP centre. During the cocktail, chamber music was played by six senior students and included piano, violin and guitar. A selection of art work from our recent Arts Week was displayed around the auditorium and this created a colourful and interesting backdrop. Traditionally this dinner is hosted by a school that is celebrating an important anniversary and since both St Hilda’s and BDS share the same centenary in 2012, the corresponding Headmasters settled the matter amicably in the best interest of friendship. During an interval short speeches were made and following on each school received a copy of our recently printed “100 year book” from Mrs Villanueva de Green. During the evening BDS received gifts to commemorate our centenary and ESSARP presented a beautiful silver tray to the school."
