Harvard’s Project Zero Travels to London… and Mr. Page is there!

0913_Project Zero Education in the 21st century is shifting in dramatic ways. Leading scholars tackle Building a Culture of Thinking, Educating for Global Competence, Ethics in a Digital Age, and Learning in and through the Arts. Presented in collaboration with CASIE (Center for Advancement and Study of International Education). Project Zero is an educational research group at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. Project Zero’s mission is to understand and enhance learning, thinking, and creativity in the arts, as well as humanistic and scientific disciplines, at the individual and institutional levels. Belgrano Day School's Headmaster, Mr. Steven Page, is to take part in this global conference.

(Español) 0813_ESSARP Conference 2013El 7 y 8 de septiembre en el Buenos Aires Sheraton Hotel tendrá lugar la Conferencia de este año sobre un tema absolutamente afín con los lineamientos que el BDS se ha fijado para el siglo XXI: "Learning @Global World".En efecto, mientras nuestro Colegio ha abrazado como grandes objetivos la apertura internacional de corte global y el "aprender a aprender" de la mano de las TICs, además del énfasis en los valores, la Conferencia propone, en su sitio oficial:
"Schools are no longer islands which stand alone but are necessarily part of a larger network which includes other schools, communities that surround them, partnerships with external educational organizations and social online learning networks. Addressing this reality entails reviewing the way learning and teaching is carried out in our schools (...)"
Belgrano Day School estará presente a través de nada menos que treinta y tres participantes, de distintas secciones y áreas. Se trata de: Por KindergartenLuz Cerini y Marilina Gianni (Headmistress & Coordinator, respectively). Por Primary: Andrea Pelliccia (Head), Carolina Goin y Marcela Cerini (Spanish and English Coordinators), y las docentes Cecilia Echaburu, Ana Flori de León, Alina Tomino, M. Laura Bargas, Raquel Kurtzemann, Alejandra Pellerano, Natalia Gallardo, Carina Montero, Claudia Pirillo y Silvia Fernández. Por Middle & Senior: los profesores Moira Hynes, Carina L. Santana, Andrea Donnini, Carla  Di Corleto, Claudia Gelonch, Robert H. Foot, Ana Ventura, Marcela Riha, Mariana Sanromán Acevedo, Claudio Fregeiro, Noel Peyret, Nilda Caamaño y Martha Battaglia; la Psicopedagoga, Jésica Giordano y el Coordinador Académico del Colegio y Director de la Sección, Mr. Steven Page. También serán de la partida Silvina Sala y Greta Gamondés (BDS Library) y el Vicedirector General del BDS, Federico Johansen. Entre los "Keynote speakers" se destacan los nombres de invitados como: Professor Sugata Mitra, 2013 TED Talk Price Winner on “The Future of Learning”, Guy Claxton, author of “The Learning Powered School”, and Will Richardson, author of the bestseller “Why School?” Oportunamente, se informará acerca de las actividades y experiencias recogidas por nuestra delegación en este importante encuentro educativo.

BDS revisits Nelson Mandela School in San Luis

[gallery ids="20966,20967,20968,20969,20970,20971,20972"] Former Primary Headmistress and current Overall Supervisor of English, Janet Lenton, reports on her recent visit to the first Public, Bilingual & Digital School in San Luis, whcih BDS continues to support: "I spent two days at this school (24th and 25th of June) observing lessons, and meeting with staff and Head. As someone with years of experience in bilingual schools, I went in representation of BDS, which the Head, Celeste de León, had visited the month before. I am now writing a report on my visit for the Minister of Education of San Luis".
